No More Sailboats

by Camilla Jean Welsch

There are

no more sailboats

to gaze at in the distance:

aquamarine,

floating wood painted red and white.

The best colors I ever saw, in fact.

And I will not see them again,

as I am landlocked.

And there are no more

glorious, adventurous trips

to islands,

driven to

over long, gray bridges

in a black Mustang

with the rooftop down.
